“Every young woman deserves someone who believes in her potential before the world celebrates her accomplishments.”

Mary Elizabeth Alston-McClellan

Founder, Beauty, Brilliance & Becoming Scholarship

The Beauty, Brilliance & Becoming Scholarship was born from a simple yet profound belief: that true success begins with character. While academic achievement is important, I believe the most extraordinary young women are those who lead with kindness, pursue excellence with humility, and embrace the journey of becoming all they were created to be.

As an educator, entrepreneur, licensed cosmetologist, and woman of faith, I have witnessed the remarkable potential that lives within young women when they are encouraged, supported, and given opportunities to flourish. My desire is not simply to award a scholarship, but to affirm purpose, celebrate perseverance, and invest in future leaders whose lives will positively impact their families, communities, and generations to come.

It is my prayer that every applicant who visits this scholarship leaves knowing that she is seen, valued, and capable of accomplishing extraordinary things. This scholarship represents more than financial assistance—it is a legacy of encouragement, excellence, and belief in the limitless possibilities that await every young woman willing to pursue her purpose.

With love,

Mary Elizabeth Alston-McClellan
